The Webster Technique

Prenatal Specific Adjustments

If you're pregnant, it's important to seek out a prenancy specific chiropractor.  When a woman is growing a baby, her ligaments start to relax and her whole body posture will change.  A good prenatal chiropractor will use gentle tonal adjustments such as the Webster Technique to keep the body safe, and make an easier pregnancy and birth.

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic technique, generally used during pregnancy, to align and balance the pelvis, ligaments, muscles and nervous system.  Using Webster, an experienced chiropractor is able to balance these structures, which in turn allows the best possible positioning and function for the uterus and the baby.

Webster is more gentle than what people typically think of when they think of chiropractic adjusting and is appropriate for the loosening ligaments of a pregnant pelvis.

Dr. Katie O'Connor is a Webster Certified Chiropractor practicing in the south Chicago suburbs.  She has taken advanced coursework in both prenatal and postpartum care to be able to serve new mothers safely and effectively.

It is important to know what an adjustment is whether you are pregnant or not.  An adjustment can be defined as a force put into the body (generally the bones, ligaments and muscles) to bring the body back into balance.  This has a large effect on the central nervous system function, so adjustments will improve the health of your entire body!
